Who knows?

Muslims in Germany. On the street, in private and in public. Up to four million. Coming from Africa, Asia, Europe, from more than 50 countries. Do they belong to the Sunni, Shia or Alevite communities, or to another, or none of them? Is it possible to spot Muslims by their garb? Glazing onto the ground, we see people, passing by or standing. Walking the same pace, or faster, or slower, crossing our way, moving our way or coming our way. Can we guess which god they believe in? Woman, man or child? We are all alike and yet so different. This is a series of people on the street, with the focus on their feet. Are they Muslims? The decision is n the eye of the beholder. The pictures were taken in 2013/14 on Friedrichstraße in Berlin, as well as in the city of Paderborn.
