1st Part
The burka is one of the most powerful semantic objects of this century and thus of the new millennium. Closely related to women in some Muslim societies, it causes the fiercest of criticism in Western society which sees it as an object of repression, in opposition to the feature of identity and protection that others see in it. This photographic series symbolizes the journey that makes this object in the figure of a man, in the same way that the social meaning of it has been changing since the time it was created.
2nd Part
The burka hangs on a thread, situated in the highest part designated to the head, it is sold in the markets and shops of Afghanistan or other countries, transmitting a ghostly feeling to our Western eyes, generating a figure, an extended contour, without life. Adopting such a form, the burka has accompanied me by all those places where it is extraneous and in which I have been looking for a branch, a rod or any small ledge where to expose it.
