Gropiusstadt

Berlin’s Gropiusstadt is a satellite housing estate dating from the 1960s. On the one hand my work focuses on how the place has become a new home for migrants, and on the other on the increasing sense of alienation felt by the first generation of inhabitants. Religion continues to play an essential role in the shared everyday life of the different residential groups, in the course of which it is primarily the Christian and Islamic faiths that confront one another.
