A Piece of Home in Germany

I chose these images because I wanted to show that so many Muslims see Germany as home. This series shows how Muslims spend religious celebrations with friends and remember their deceased relatives. First, I wanted to highlight problems like racism that Muslims face, but then I decided to document their moments of happiness that often manifest in religious celebrations. The photos show people during and at the end of the fasting month of Ramadan, as well as the Arife Day at which Muslims honour and remember their deceased relatives.
